-I did really like working on this project. I was not too much of a fan at first because the colored pencils really weren't agreeing with my patience and perfectionistic habits, however once I approached the end of the drawing part, and began water coloring over the colored pencil I really started to enjoy the way things looked. Specifically, I really enjoyed how I could use water to texture and further detail what I drew with colored pencil. The most challenging part of this piece was drawing the tree branches and cherry blossom flowers that were on the branches of the tree. This was difficult because I just wanted it to look as real as possible and I wanted the flowers to be everywhere so It took me a long time. In conclusion, this was a very new concept to me (water color pencils) but I ended up really liking it and by all means would do it again.

Oil Pastel

Oil Pastel on Paper
47$
This art piece was interesting and taught me some new drawing techniques, but all in all, I was not as satisfied with the materials I used or at least as much as I anticipated I would be. It was challenging to make it look real, as this is originally a real photo, but it was also challenging to make it look clean while dealing with oil pastels. The proportions were difficult as well, as I wanted it to look just like the photo (which was a weird size because it was taken on an iPhone). I did like the way that I could blend colors with the oil pastels though. Next time I probably won't use oil pastels, although they did have characteristics I enjoyed. In conclusion, this piece was pretty difficult and didn't come out as clean as I wanted, but it taught me how to be a better artist/ drawer in general.

Free Choice

Of The Evocative Creations -Logo, 2019
8.5" x 11" - Vertical
Pencil and pen on paper, later taken into photoshop and drawn digitally
$47.47
When the free art choice was proposed for our last project of the semester, I was also in the process of creating my business cards for my music, so I figured I would draw up a logo of some kind that suited my artist aesthetic. I included two important chakras that correspond with my emotional and spiritual drive behind music, and I put the lips in between as a symbol of how I express that. I just did it in pencil and some pen as I wanted it to be simple enough to later draw in photoshop in order to have a digital version. The simple pencil and black line that was used in the physical drawing also fits my artist aesthetic very well, and really goes well with the font I used on my business cards. My favorite part or my highlight is the fact that I got to use drawing as another extension of my passion for fine arts, and intertwined it with what I care most about, which is music.
